New Gas Chromatography Interface for High Resolution Single and Multicollector ICP-MS

The new Thermo Scientific GCI Interface Series enables complete system integration for optimized, simplified Gas Chromatography ICP-MS analysis. The GCI Interface Series comprises GCI kits for our ICP quadrupole MS product portfolio (iCAP Q / iCAP RQ / iCAP TQ), as well as for the Element 2/XR and Neptune Plus.

The improved reproducibility of the GCI Interface Series is related to the superior temperature control and low power consumption. Inclosing the transfer line behind a cover lowers the risk of accidental burns or shocks. The lightweight nature of the transfer line puts less stress on the ICP torch.

The new GCI Interface Series has been tested for various applications. In the Technical Note TN30383, we describe how the new GCI Interface Series can be connected to the Neptune Plus MC-ICP-MS and a Trace GC to analyze sulfur isotopes in individual compounds within a series of crude oil samples. The Application Brief AB30282 describes a method for simultaneous low level lead speciation and isotope ratio analysis using the Neptune Plus Multicollector ICP-MS coupled with the Trace 1310 GC using the GCI300. We also created a poster on high sensitivity tin speciation using the new GCI Interface on the Element XR. To find out more about the applications, please visit the Knowledge Base.
