The new Thermo Scientific™ 253 Plus™ yet again redefines high performance for isotope ratio mass spectrometry. It builds on the robustness, linearity, and sensitivity only available in the Thermo Scientific 10 kV IRMS technology.
The “extra bright” 10 kV EI ion source enables highest sensitivity and linearity in IRMS. It contains all-metal sealed ion source and analyzer with gold gaskets and it dynamic range is greater than 107. It is the only Gas IRMS with variable conductance (VISC). And it offers hydrogen continuous flow capability as well as fully integrated work flow solutions in the Thermo Scientific™ Isodat™ software suite.
Technical innovations for the 253 Plus improve sample utilization, stability, background and signal-to-noise resulting in ultimate precision on smallest sample sizes. This is obtained by a new magnet design, a new collector for improved clumped isotope measurements and LIDI workflow for uncompromised sample utilization. Also available on the 253 Plus is the 1013 ohm amplifier technology for outstanding signal-to-noise ratio for smallest isotopologue measurements.
